About Akarana Community Trust Limited

The Akarana Community Trust is a non-profit company based in Auckland which raises funds for authorised purposes through the operation of gaming machines.

Funds raised are primarily for the benefit of local community centres, amateur sport in general and the young members of the Indian Community.

If you are from a group that is considering applying, this website should provide you with all the information you need to know about making an application. In particular, please read the funding criteria information contained in the Applications section of the website prior to completing an application form.

Applications must be received 5 working days prior to Trust meetings, which are generally held once each month.

As the Trustees cannot consider retrospective applications (ie, claims for expenditure that has already been paid), please ensure that you submit your application well in advance of when you require the funds.

Akarana Community Trust has undertaken an annual review of the criteria, methods, systems and policies it uses for considering the distribution of net proceeds from class 4 gambling. As a result of the review no changes to the grants process or the grants policy were made.
